Clerkship positions

We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic and hard working PLT Students or Law Graduates for our 2021 clerkship positions.

The position

Examples of work undertaken by our team on a day to day basis include legal recovery, real property mortgage enforcement, Personal Property Securities Act enforcement and advice, preference defences, contract disputes, partnership disputes, public examinations, liquidations and creditors’ petitions, insurance disputes, personal guarantee claims, constructive trust claims, building and infrastructure disputes and leasing disputes.

Clerks will be responsible for assisting with research, drafting pleadings and client forms, writing articles, preparation for and attendance at court, attending  client meetings and drafting correspondence.

We are a specialist firm, practicing solely in commercial litigation with an emphasis on credit law, monetary claims and insolvency. We have a strong, established reputation and client base in these areas.

Our client base comprises large corporations and government bodies across a range of industries including insurance, financial services and trade credit. Our clients include large, recognised businesses including Coates Hire, Brisbane BMW, Toll Group, Holcim, WorkCover (Qld) and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.

The candidate

The successful candidate will;

  • Completed a Bachelor of Laws
  • have a strong academic record
  • take a keen interest in insolvency and commercial litigation
  • have excellent attention to detail
  • be a fast and keen learner
  • possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • present a willingness to help and assist clients and staff with any tasks as required.
