Melissa has extensive experience advising clients across a wide variety of civil and commercial disputes including contractual disputes, legal recovery and security enforcement, employment law disputes, consumer law disputes, disputes under the Corporations Act, disputes between growers and merchants in the horticulture produce industry, banking disputes, general commercial disputes, insolvency law matters for and against insolvency practitioners and commercial leasing disputes.
Melissa is also experienced in the specialist area of horticulture produce law and, in particular, has drafted horticulture produce agreements and terms of trade, advised clients on compliance with the Horticulture Code of Conduct and assisted clients in ACCC investigations on compliance with the Code.
Melissa prides herself on her strong client relationships and always strives to get the best result for her clients with a commercial focus. While Melissa is passionate about trade credit, given her broad experience in most areas of civil and commercial litigation, she also enjoys taking on cases in areas outside of general trade credit, legal recovery and insolvency.
Melissa is a Council Member of the Queensland Division of the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM) and has presented at the AICM National Conference.
